Divine Feminine Performance at Saint Johns Cathedral
Performed at the altar of the Saint Johns Cathedral on June 6 2026. Created by Helena Acosta and Martha Lluch From Inanna to Sophia: An Ode to the Divine Feminine is an immersive and participatory performance exploring the timeless journey of the feminine through myth, spirituality, embodiment, and creative expression. Inspire by the ancient Sumerian goddess Inanna and the wisdom figure of Sophia, the work weaves together poetry, movement, music, visual art, and audience participation to create a collective experience of reflection and connection. Rather than presenting a linear narrative, the performance invites participants into a living exploration of themes such as descent and renewal, vulnerability and strength, intuition, creativity, and the reclamation of the feminine voice.
Each iteration of the piece evolves in response to its environment and community, emphasizing art as a shared experience and a catalyst for dialogue, imagination, and transformation.
